What does it involve?
The process of viral pathogenic wipe-down typically involves several steps:

Assess the area: Determine the extent of the contamination and identify areas that require cleaning.

Prepare the cleaning solution: Mix the cleaning solution according to manufacturer instructions or as directed by a healthcare professional.

Put on personal protective equipment (PPE): Wear PPE such as gloves, masks, and gowns to protect yourself from exposure to the virus.

Clean the surfaces: Wipe down all surfaces with the cleaning solution, using a disposable cloth or mop. Pay close attention to high-touch areas such as doorknobs, light switches, and countertops.

Let the cleaning solution sit: Allow the cleaning solution to sit on the surface for the recommended amount of time to ensure that the virus is killed.

Dispose of contaminated materials: Dispose of all cleaning materials and PPE in a sealed plastic bag, and dispose of it according to local regulations.

Wash your hands: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.

Repeat as necessary: Repeat the process as necessary to ensure that all areas are properly cleaned and disinfected.

How does it work?
Throughout the entire process, hazmat abatement professionals will take precautions to ensure the safety of themselves and others, including wearing protective gear and using air filtration systems to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. The goal of hazmat abatement is to remove hazardous materials from a location and make it safe for people to occupy.
